It's a self-preservation technique. She's a strong little kid. She just needs to learn that, although it's not in her best interest to cry in front of her dad, it IS in her best interest to be able to cry other times. I know you're already all over that. He has skied twice this week, gotten drunk twice this week, he headed up to the hill again today to conquer the race run, so he can try and win the race tomorrow. I've cleaned, cooked, laundry, etc. The other night, with his feet up, I cooking, he wondered if he was going to 'catch' my cold, I told him he could do the cooking so I wouldn't contaminate him, and he said, "That's ok, just be sure to wash up really well so I don't get the germs..."
