On Tying The Knot
What a happy and holy fashion it is that those who love one another should rest on the same pillow.
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Marriage is an alliance entered into by a man who can’t sleep with the window shut, and a woman who can’t sleep with the window open.

Here is my favorite marriage quotation… I love it…
“Marriage hath in it less of beauty but more of safety, than the single life; it hath more care, but less danger, it is more merry, and more sad; it is fuller of sorrows, and fuller of joys; it lies under more burdens, but it is supported by all the strengths of love and charity, and those burdens are delightful.” - Bishop Jeremy Taylor (1613 - 1667)
Susan,
That is an amazing quote. And it’s so true.
Thanks for sharing. ;)
Susan, I’ve never heard that quote before. It’s beautiful. That’s why I always joke that there’s no one I’d rather be annoyed by than the man I’m married to. With all his warts and foibles (and I’m more than aware I have them too), at the end of the day there’s no one in the world I’d rather be married to than him.
Pat,
And that is how I define success - not money, acclaim, big house or a title. To me, success is a good (with all it’s inherent annoyances) relationship.
