Boulders In My Shoes

high-heelsSome days are like that.  You have to remind yourself to laugh.  You have to stop taking yourself seriously.  You have to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

And after a long day of putting one foot in front of the other, treat yourself to a hot sudsy soak for your toes.  I’m going to.  Those simple little bright spots — that we can look forward to — they get us through the day.  That, and a kiss from my kids.

  1. Oh, very nice, Jess! I clicked the link and gave the whole office a dose of music! Oops! Speakers were cranked! :o)

  2. Hey, it’s nice to share. Everybody has rocks in their shoes at some point!

  3. I swear to God, I never wear these shoes, but I love the way they looked with the light coming in the way it did. In fact, Jenny uses ’em for dress up. I swear…

  4. I would verify Jesse’s claim… I can’t see her in these shoes! (Although when she’s all alone, she probably puts them on and clicks and clacks around the house… seriously… who wouldn’t?)

  5. okay… true confessions. I wear them when Jen begs me to play dress up. And I’ve been know to actually sweep the floor while wearing them, since there’s no pressure to do a perfect job on the floor anymore. And that’s it. really.

  6. I also love the photo, but I’m trying to remember ever seeing you in heels. I can see you in them in family photos in my head but not “in real life”. You never needed to “dress up” to look beautiful. I always thought you were the the most beautiful girl (and then woman) ever.

And it is fun now to dress up with our little girls isn’t it? :-)

  7. Dearest Kate,

You must have known that I needed some strokes today. Thank you. :) I have always thought that you and your sisters were the beautiful ones, both inside and out.

    Love you.

  8. Look who we had to emulate!

    Love you too.

  9. Thank you so much for all the beautiful words that you have written. Some are sad, some are humorous, some heartwarming and moving –and all are so appreciated and helpful. You really make a difference to me and to many many others I am sure. We love you
