    Many teachers say that it’s because of the contrast created by knowing what we don’t want that we eventually discover (recover?) what we do.

    I do think we know what we are searching for, but we may be too shell-shocked to acknowledge it yet.

    Healing is coming.

    … or we are so used to stuffing what it is that we want/like, that we wouldn’t recognize it if we ran headlong into it.
