Wow Jesse! This is SO true! A N tears others down to builds themselves up and attempt to fill the gaping wound in themselves–except the wound is bottomless and the criticism therefore endless.
What is is and we will be better off for letting go of expecting civility, decency,–BUT it does not mean we tolerate abuse.
Hugs to your and yours!!
Lynn,
Good words to post on the cupboard: “Let go of expecting civility, but DON’T tolerate abuse.” I like that. A lot. Thank you.
The quote has been swirling in my brain since I posted it. As much as it applies to Ns, I see how it stops me in my tracks when I’m about to criticize something. I’ve noticed that if I’m feeling less than, I tend to want to pick at what is making me feel that way. And then I realize, I AM making me feel that way. It’s an interesting conundrum.
As always, thanks for commenting.
